Extra notes on cover, middle (gatefold sleeve) and any inserts
I was going to write some deep and thought-provoking sleeve notes for this album but I don't think I will now - as the material on this recording speaks for itself. Most people will e aware that the Ark Royal's crew have recorded two singles for BBC Records. The first "Sailing" (RESL 38), released in January 1977, narrowly missed the Top 50 and the second "The Last Farewell" (RESL 61), climbed to number 41 in January 1979. This LP brings together all the songs recorded so far and captures the feelings and emotions which have proved to be so popular with the record-buying public. So sit back - listen to the music - and salute a great ship and a great crew. Mike Harding. May 1979

BBC Radio Enterprises Ltd and BBC Enterprises Ltd, predecessors of BBC Worldwide / BBC Worldwide Ltd., the BBC's commercial arm. Formed 1968 and 1979 respectively, they were a subsidiary wholly owned by the BBC and merged into BBC Worldwide in 1995. In that time, there were companies set up within or structured brands as part of the company to deal with separate parts of the business, e.g. BBC Records for recorded audio. Sometimes written as BBC Enterprise Ltd.
