BackgroundDoctor Who always seems to manage to portray 'history' more competently than the 'future', perhaps due to the BBC's love of historical drama, With The Visitation, the series dishes up a lovely little period piece of traditional Doctor Who, with convincing monsters, village yokels and the magnificent Richard Mace all thrown into the mix. Peter Davison gives a polished performance with sheer enthusiasm for the script and the role, while crowded TARDIS crew of Tegan, Nyssa and Adric all get a share of the action. Writer Eric Saward's lovingly crafted script manages to harken back to Doctor Who's more traditional roots, whilst at the same time pointing the way forward towards a bright new future for the series ... | ||
