Reviews

Below is my review for this release and the ratings.
The idea of this song is to get you thinking of watching those planes flying over. Does it do it for you? Me neither!

The music 'Fly' and 'Hypercharge' are both taken from Mood Music LP's - these are for use in TV and Film productions and are not available to the General Public. 'Fly' is played by the O. D. S. Band who are better known in their native Germany as The Oliver Dwight Sound.

'Hypercharge' is one of many superlative compositions from the pens of session-men Malcolm Ironton and Frances Monkman.

The Red ArrowsThe aerobatic team of The Royal Air Force formed in 1965 flying the Hawker Siddeley Gnat trainer. In 1980 the team equipped with the RAF's new advanced and tactical trainer, the British Aerospace Hawk.

The display season each year sees The Red Arrows appearing in more than 100 public displays thoughtout Britain and Europe. The team consists of nine pilots and a spare Hawk is flown to venues by the team manager whose duties include team administration and giving the commentary at displays - he does not replace any of the pilots.

The Film"The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team - The Red Arrows" was made by Arthur Gibson and Norman Pealing and produced by Image in Industry Ltd.

Arthur Gibson won the C. P. Robertson Memorial Trophy in 1981 for this film and for his outstanding aviation photography. This trophy is awarded by the Air Public Relations Association to someone whose constant effort has been the interpretation of the Royal Air Force to the public.

Since the film was transmitted we have had many enquiries for a record of the music - so here it is. We would like to thank the Peer International and KPM Music Libraries for their co-operation in producing this recording.

Formed 1968 and 1979 respectively, they were a subsidiary wholly owned by the BBC and merged into BBC Worldwide in 1995. In that time, there were companies set up within or structured brands as part of the company to deal with separate parts of the business, e.g. BBC Records for recorded audio. Sometimes written as BBC Enterprise Ltd.

The items shown here are from the "main" BBC Records and Tapes library covering a wide secletion of genres from themes, comedy dramas and others, depending on which format you have selected.
