DIRECTOR OF MUSIC: CAPTAIN D. N. Taylor, ARCM, LTCL, psm. GUEST BARITONE: John Lawrenson The Regimental Band of The Welsh Guards was founded in 1915. Firmly established as one of the world's foremost military bands, the musicians enjoy the highest reputation justified by the fact that they have much more appearances on radio, film, television and recordings than perhaps any band in the world. The Silver Jubilee year will be one of the busiest periods ever for the Welsh Guards Band. They will be participating in Jubilee events and State Occasions in various parts of the country in this year of 'Royal Salute'. JOHN LAWRENSON Joohn Lawrenson, a sensitive and versatile artist is one of the finest baritones that this country has ever produced. Through his radio and television appearances, recordings and concert tours at home and abroad, John Lawrenson is a household name. In January 1977 he celebrated his 2000th broadcast with the BBC. Grand Opera, operetta and oratorio fall within his sphere of his extensive repertoire and he is in constant demand for recitals and celebrity performances of the highest professional standing. Sleeve notes: Captain D.H. Taylor Sound: Tony Askew, Brian Webber Production: Mike Harding Sleeve design: Andrew Prewett | ||
