This is a bit of a fake interview with funny periods. Not sure it quite works though?

Extra notes on cover, middle (gatefold sleeve) and any inserts
This record is made up, as far as I know, of the only extedned examples of the non-interview cast in the form of the interview. To achieve this, Gerald Hoffnung - as a kind of brilliantly zany Doctor Johnson - is pursued down paths of self-contrived non-sequiturs by an indefatigable, near monosyllabic Boswell - the Canadian Charles Richardson. They developed what I call almost a love-hate relationship. It began in the North American Section of the BBC External Services something like a dozen years ago. From there, these two unique performers migrated to the then Light Programme (of which I was Controller), and because the highlight of a programme called Saturday Night on the Light. Now, neither performer - alas! - is with us, But, remarkably, their untiring pursuit of the impossibly improbable has survived the passage of time through the foresight of an engineer employed by the BBC in New York. He saved copies of some of the interviews before the masters were destroyed, for his own personal delight. A few other tapes were found by Mrs. Hoffnung at her home. There were amateur efforts (one recorded on the wrong side of the tape, others at incorrect speed) probably made by her husband who, fortunately for us, liked to play with his recording machine. Now, thanks to the skill of a devoked group of BBC engineers, the interviews have been reclaimed and unalloyed, the magic of Huffnung and Richardson survives. It would be a pleasant coincidence if other Hoffnung tape recordings were to be found and if readers of these notes know of any, I would be delighted to hear from them. H. BBC Radio Enterprises Ltd and BBC Enterprises Ltd, predecessors of BBC Worldwide / BBC Worldwide Ltd., the BBC's commercial arm. Formed 1968 and 1979 respectively, they were a subsidiary wholly owned by the BBC and merged into BBC Worldwide in 1995. In that time, there were companies set up within or structured brands as part of the company to deal with separate parts of the business, e.g. BBC Records for recorded audio. Sometimes written as BBC Enterprise Ltd.
