It was in 1959 that ''Sing something simple'' was first braodcast by the BBC. Intended originally as a six week summer ''fill-in'' programme, it was an immediate success with the listeners and has been broadcast continuously every Sunday afternoon ever since.

Unashamedly based on nostalgia the repertoire now runs into thousands of items ranging from Victorian ballads like 'Blass this houns' to Lennon and McCartney numbers like 'I want to hold your hand'. The one common element is that all the songs have that sing-a-long quality.

This selection of 56 items have been personally selected to provide ''the best of'' Sing something simple, and all of us, singers and musicians alike are unanimous in our feeling that the recording sessions that make up this record were the most rewarding and enjoyable that we have ever experienced.

I sinserely hope that you will enjoy them as much as we have.

Happy listening.
CLIFF ADAMS.

Music arranged and directed by Cliff Adams.
Accompanied by Jack Emblow.
