Extra notes on cover, middle (gatefold sleeve) and any inserts

This record accompanies programmes 13-24. It contains recordings of the dramatised teaching sketches on Television and selections from the interviews and conversations recorded in France for Radio. The voices in the Radio recordings are: Dominique de Gasquet, Annick Magnet, Jean Maisonnave and Georges Millot asjking the questions, and a wide variety of ordinary French people in Aix-en-Provence and Dijon giving the replies. The voices in the Television extracts are: Elma Soiron, Andre Maranne, Carolle Rousseau and Gilles Dattas. By using this record with the Ensumble book, you can familiarise yourself thoroughly with the key material of each lesson on both Radio and TV, and so make the most of this broadcast course in conversational French.

The produces are Tony Roberts (TV) and Alan Wilding (radio.)

Further information

BBC sub label for foreign language records.

This was the first BBC label available to the public to purchase starting in the early 1960's. To start with, you could only purchase these direct from the BBC. There were shows aired where listeners could follow the programme on the Radio (usually foreign language training shows) and then purchase the record and separate book to accompany it. These could be kept afterwards to continue their home learning.

Later the shows were also recorded for television and the records as well as the books became more widely available in the shops.
