Settle - Carlisle Railway (Donald with additional voice and instrumentation by Clark - Rowe)

The Settle - Carlisle Railway wa the last great work of the Famous Railway Navvies. They achieved the impossible by building the highest main line in England and conquering the wildest moorland terrain. This line has been an essential part of the Dalesman's life for over a century and the great hardships will follow its imminent closure. The long drag to Bleamoor will then leave reality to join the ralms of railway history. Words and music by Mike Donald.

Visions of Cumbria (Donald)

Attempts to capture the wild beauty of the English Lake District and its traditional enemy the spoils of industry. The Cumbrian Railways came to move the mineral enriched earth and provided a short lived prosperity to the Lakeland. The ecomonic situation has sadly seclined leaving an insecure future for the Railways with their only salvation in the hands of the enthusiasts and tourists. Words and music by Mike Donald.

Night express - North bound (Rowe and Clark)

Commemorates the fortnight of Christopher Rowe's life spent on British Rail. For twen years he lived in the South and often travelled to Scotlajnd to visit his parents. The song depicts an empty station and the interminable waiting for a home bound train. Word and music by Christopher Rowe.

The permanent way (Clark and Rowe)

The lament of a lonely A4 Pacific for the noble days of steam. Standing in a shed awaiting the breaker's hammer she casts her mind baack remembering past glories and the famous engineers and engines of her day. Words and music by Ian Clark.
