I don't know about you, but when I play the 'Golden Oldies' on Radio One, it's more than a record that I put on the turntable; it's a whole collection of memories as well. With this recording, remember the summer of 1970 and the fun sound of Mungo Jerry, or go back a few years to 1964 and the original Liverpool sound of the Searchers with 'Needles and Pins'. Personally, hits like 'Sad Sweet Dreamer' by Sweet Sensation from 1974, and Petula Clark singing 'This Is My Song' in 1967, bring back the memories for me. With no less than 12 chart toppers amongst the 20 tracks that we've squeezed on the album - it's got to be great value for money. Whatever your taste, I'm sure you'll find plenty of your favourites, so sit back, close your eyes, and let those memories come flooding back. TONY BLACKBURN | ||
