StarringTom Baker (Fourth Doctor) Lalla Ward (Romana) Matthew Waterhouse (Adric) John Leeson (Voice of K-9 Mk. II) Leonard Maguire - Draith James Bree - Nefred Alan Rowe - Garif George Baker - Login Tony Calvin - Dexeter Richard Willis - Varsh June Page - Keara Bernard Padden - Tylos Andrew Forbes - Omril Adrian Gibbs - Rysik Barney Lawrence - Marshman Norman Bacon - Marshchild Written byAndrew Smith Produced byJohn Nathan-Tiurner Directed byPeter Grimwade SynopsisAttempting to return home to Gallifrey, the Doctor, Romana and K-9 find themselves on the planet Alzarius. As the local inhabitants retreat in terror to their marooned spacecraft, the Doctor sets out toi investigate, and a group of young rebels take Romana hostage in the TARDIS. Besieged by the reptilian creatures rising from the marshes, the colonists on the Starliner face a bleak future without the Doctor's help. Can he uncover the dark truth about Mistfall before it is too late? BackgroundThe introduction of Adric represented a real shift in the direction of Doctor Who under Producer John Nathan-Turner. Having a young companion aboard the TARDIS was intended to re-engage with the younger audience and re-invigorate the show. However, the oft-quoted comparison with the Artful Dodger is inaccurate, given the character's academic brilliance and his failure to enthusiastically engage in the criminal activities of the Outsiders: Adric proves to be more precocious brat than loveable rascal. Written by a fan, Full Circle features a number of continuity references, an increasingly prevalent trend during Nathan-Turner's time on the show. More than a season after the quest for the Key to Time ended, the issue of Romana returning to Gallifrey finally comers to a head. Her reluctance to go back is clear, so what will her future bring? Teasingly, the story opens with the promise of answers on Gallifrey, only to be hijacked by an intriguing detour into the mysterious realm of E-Space. Full Circle offers us lessons in evolution, politics and morality. It successfully blends scientific theory with classic horror, and the design of the Marshmen owes much to The Creature from the Black Lagoon. For Doctor Who fans though, more evocative still is the moment the Marshmen rise from the swamp at the end of Part One which so strongly echoes the iconic cliffhanger from The Sea Devils (1972). With its lush film sequences and location work, this is a story that rattles along at a cracking pace, being both thrilling and intellectually challenging in equal measures. | ||

BBC Radio Enterprises Ltd and BBC Enterprises Ltd, predecessors of BBC Worldwide / BBC Worldwide Ltd., the BBC's commercial arm. Formed 1968 and 1979 respectively, they were a subsidiary wholly owned by the BBC and merged into BBC Worldwide in 1995. In that time, there were companies set up within or structured brands as part of the company to deal with separate parts of the business, e.g. BBC Records for recorded audio. Sometimes written as BBC Enterprise Ltd.
