Synopsis

Episode 1
In a vast domed city, Blake meets with two rebels who persuade him to attend an illegal meeting. There he discovers that his family has been murdered and that he was once a great resistance leader, but had his mind wiped by the Federation.

Before he can find out more the rebel gathering is attacked and massacred. Blake manages to escape, but is arrested and put on trial.
Episode 2
Sentenced to exile on the planet Cygnus Alpha, Blake is on the prison transport ship 'London'. Whilst on board Vila Restal, who Blake met along with Jenna Stannis in the holding cell, introduces him to fellow prisoner, Kerr Avon.

Together they plan a take-over of the ship with the help of fellow prisoners including a giant of a man called Olag Gan.

However neither the prisoners nor the crew are prepared for their encounter with a large, alien spacecraft.
Episode 3
The London touches down on Cygnus Alpha. Meanwhile Blake, Jenna and Avon explore their newly acquired ship, the Liberator.

The ship's computer, Zen, accepts them as the new crew, and Blake orders a course set for Cygnus Alpha.

With the discovery of the Liberator's teleport capability and a rack of powerful handguns, it's time to rescue their fellow prisoners.
Episode 4
The Liberator manages to evade Federation Pursuit ships with the crew flying the ship on manual. Blake then announces that he intends to use the Liberator to strike back at the Federation. He orders a course for Saurian Major where, with the help of local guerrillas, he intends to attack a Federation communications post. On the way they find a strange capsule floating in space and pick it up.

Blake, Vila and Avon teleport down to Saurian Major, Jenna and Gan are left alone on the Liberator with the strange capsule and whatever it might contain.
Episode 5
In a laboratory in a web covered forest is a fluid filled tank containing the shrunken body of a creature with a huge head. The creature is repeating over and over 'They must come.'

Meanwhile the Liberator's newest crewmember, Cally, is acting very strangely. Under telepathic influence, she sabotages the ship and forces it into uncharted space. The Liberator becomes trapped in web-like strands. Blake teleports down to a nearby planet, where he is attacked by small creatures called Decimas.
Episode 6
Blake, Vila, Avon, Cally and Gan succeed in stealing a Federation cipher unit from the Centero Communications Base. However, Cally loses her teleport bracelet in a scuffle with a technician and is left behind.

In Space Command Headquarters the Federation is aware of Blake's actions. Supreme Commander Servalan orders Space Commander Travis to seek, locate and destroy Blake. Travis sets a trap for Blake on Centero and uses Cally as bait.
Episode 7
The Liberator encounters the Ortega, a ship circling aimlessly in space. Blake, Avon and Cally teleport over to discover the entire crew has been tranquillised using sono vapour. On the flight deck they find the pilot dead, the controls smashed and the numbers 54124 written in blood.

When the crew recover Blake is told the Ortega is carrying a neutrotope energy refactor needed to save their home world, Destiny. Blake offers to take the neutrotope to Destiny for them. Cally and Avon stay behind and try to find out who murdered the pilot and why.
Episode 8
On a desolate windswept planet the guardian Sinofar summons the keeper, Giroc. Together they look to the night sky, where Travis with three pursuit ships has the Liberator surrounded and is closing in for the kill.
Blake puts the Liberator on a collision course with Travis's pursuit ship. Time then seems to stop and Travis and Blake materialise on the planet. Sinofar tells Travis and Blake they will have to fight to the death using only a knife as a weapon. Who will emerge victorious?
Episode 9
On a blizzard-swept planet, Travis captures rebel leader Avalon. She is the key to him getting his hands on Blake and the Liberator.

When Blake arrives for his meeting with Avalon he finds only one survivor of her group, Chevner, who tells them of Travis and where Avalon has been taken. Naturally, Blake and the others rescue Avalon from her cell in the Command Centre.

However, Blake's suspicions are aroused - the rescue was a little to easy.
Episode 10
Gan's limiter is malfunctioning, and he will die if it's not repaired.

The crew decide to take him to Space Laboratory XK-72. However, their course leads them through an exceptionally dangerous zone in space and Zen refuses to fly there. The crew have to fly the ship on manual control through a perilous vortex to the space station, where a warm welcome is by no means assured.
Episode 11
Blake and Jenna teleport down to an ancient folly, looking for Sarkoff, ex-president of the planet Lindor. Blake wants to persuade him to return to Lindor and unite his people before the Federation sends in a 'peace-keeping' force.

Meanwhile, the Liberator has been taken over by Amagon pirates, who plan to sell it - and the captured crew - to the Federation for a vast profit. Sarkoff agrees to Blake's request but they too are captured by the Amagons on their return to the Liberator.
Episode 12
A small space capsule loses control over the planet Cephlon, the two occupants eject in escape pods. The Liberator detects the pods and the crew mount a rescue. One of the men is dead. The other, Ensor, is badly injured. On returning to the Liberator they realise that Jenna is still on the planet so another rescue is counted.

Meanwhile they find Ensor is carrying power cells that his father needs to stay alive, as well as a message from the Federation; they are willing to pay one hundred million credits for something called Orac.
Episode 13
Blake promises the dying Ensor that he will go to Aristo to deliver the power cells to his father. He is also curious to find out more about Orac.

Jenna, Gan, Avon and Vila are suffering from radiation sickness, and they hope that Ensor's father will have the drugs they need.

However, Servalan and Travis are also en route to Aristo to find Ensor and take Orac for themselves.

It is now a race to see who gets to Orac first - Servalan or Blake.
