StarringRowan Atkinson - Ebenezer Blackadder Tony Robinson - Baldrick Robbie Coltrane - The spirit of Christmas Miranda Richardson - Queen Elizabeth I / Asphyxia IX Hugh Laurie - Princes Regent / Pigmot Stephen Fry - Lords Melchet / Frondo Patsy Byrne - Nursie / Bernard Mirium Margoyles - Queen Victoria Jim Broadbent - Prince Albert Pauline Melville - Mrs Scratchit Denis Lill - Beadle Nicola Bryant - Awful screeching woman Ramsay Gilderdale - Giggling ninny Enormous Orphans - David Nunn, David Barber, Erkan Mustafa Philip Pope - Lord Nelson Written byRichard Curtis Ben Elton Produced byJohn Lloyd Directed byRichard Boden SynopsisDicken's classic tale of kindness and virtue completely mucked up and ruined by having a member of the Blackaddwer family involved. Also Baldrick, of course, the man you rely on to turn a Christmas dinner into a dog's dinner, as long as the dog isn't particularly fussy. Stuffed with deeply horrid people (many of whom are gigantically fat) and groaning with cartloads of seasonal bottom jokes, it manages to squeeze in not only a Victorian Blackadder but also his famous Elizabethan, Regency and Space Age relatives into a hugh pie of entertainment that will satisfy all but the most discriminating viewers. Not suitable for beadles, orphans, nieces, or long dead members of the Royal Family. | ||

Formed 1968 and 1979 respectively, they were a subsidiary wholly owned by the BBC and merged into BBC Worldwide in 1995. In that time, there were companies set up within or structured brands as part of the company to deal with separate parts of the business, e.g. BBC Records for recorded audio. Sometimes written as BBC Enterprise Ltd.
